MISSION TRANSACTION UNIT INTERN - Development Finance Corporation (formerly Overseas Private Investment Corporation) (Washington, District of Columbia)
SUMMARY: MTU's client base, market focus, and strategy cover a broad range of high-impact sectors (agriculture, education, energy, healthcare, infrastructure, financial services, water and sanitation) with a core focus on innovative and inclusive financial services. The MTU team provides investments and technical assistance to financial intermediaries (including funds, investment companies, and commercial lenders) and directly to private sector companies.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must be U.S. citizens enrolled at least part-time in an accredited college or university in a relevant graduate degree program. The ideal candidate should have a graduate-level academic concentration in business, international affairs/development, economics, statistics, or finance. Previous emerging markets investing and/or international development experience is highly desired. Exposure to and experience in excel and financial modeling, as well as excellent research and communication skills required. Foreign language skills in Spanish, French, and/or Russian is a plus.
